How long, O Lord, will you look on and do nothing?
Rescue me from their fierce attacks.
Protect my life from these lions!

Psalm 35:17
I don't know about you, but when I was a child, one of the common complaints was "That's Not Fair!" This usually involved something with my older brother getting, what I thought was, special treatment. I remember my Grampa telling me, "Life ain't fair. Ain't gonna git fair this side of Heaven." Which, in my young mind, wasn't fair either!
As I got older and learned a bit more, I began to notice that "Fair" was actually "My Way." You see, when we want "Fair" we usually are actually wanting things done "My Way." In the same way, when we demand "Justice" we are usually wanting someone else to pay the price, even if we are in the wrong as well.
Today's verse has David asking God "How long are you going to just sit back and watch?" when, in reality, God's plan is ALWAYS working! How many times have we come to God and asked Him when He's going to get tired all that's going on and clean house (believing that WE won't be among those who get "cleaned")?
Think about this: "For He has set a day for
judging the world with justice by the man He has appointed, and He
proved to everyone who this is by raising him from the dead" - Acts 17:31. Did you catch that? God has set a day where He will make everything fair! So every day you mark off your calendar is another day closer to this Coming Day. On that day, God will balance the scales of fairness forever. And God's promises are always true!
