Closer Than We Realize

How close do you think God is to you?  Think about it, God pledges His presence to His people over and over.  "Do not be afraid...I am your shield, your great reward" (Genesis 15:1).  "Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9).  "Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you" (Deuteronomy 31:6).

Think about this, God called Himself Immanuel, which literally means "God with us."  Then He became flesh in the form of Jesus, He defeated the grave, and He is still with us.  And now, God is with us in the form of the Holy Spirit!  

How close is God?  Closer than our next breath, closer than our own skin, closer than our own thoughts!
