And now, brothers, as I
close this letter, let me say this one more thing: Fix your thoughts on
what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and
lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all
you can praise God for and be glad about.
Philippians 4:8
We are ALL prone to mistakes, or is it just me? We ALL have those people who focus purely on the negative in us and seem to thrive on making sure they point it out to us. I once had a teacher like that. Oh she would hit you with the "under handed compliment" by smiling and saying, "You did quite well. However, I would be remiss if I didn't point out some ways you need to improve your performance." I felt so depressed in her class to the point that I dreaded having to go.
Let me ask you a question, are you an encourager or a discourager? Do you focus on the good in others or on the negative? The Apostle Paul tells us to "dwell on the fine, good things in others." Do we?
Think about it this way, would you prefer to work for a boss who constantly criticizes or one that encourages?
