Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort.
1 Corinthians 15:58
Have you ever had a task at work that you didn't like doing, didn't understand why you were the given the task, and didn't think it made any sort of difference? How about this, have you ever seen or known anyone you didn't want to get to know because they were different (weird) and you didn't find any sort of advantage in getting to know them? When you are finished staring at me, let's continue.
To whom did Jesus minister? Outcasts, Lepers, demon possessed, one weird collection of oddballs (Disciples - fishermen, dreamers, tax collectors, zealots, hotheads, sons of thunder), prostitutes, pretty much everyone that "good people" would overlook or ignore. Which begs the question: Do we cling to our "good people" status or do we follow the example of Christ?
Think about it, you could be the conduit of God's love for someone who has had a rough life. God has chosen us to do the work with the downtrodden, the ignored, the fringe, the overlooked. Let's reflect God's love to this dark world!
